Lonavala is a popular hill station and a local getaway 110 km from Mumbai. Lying on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, the place is perfect for all those seeking a calm and peaceful place. It is known for a popular candy known as 'chikki'. Every year lots of tourists from around the world visit this soothing place, especially during monsoons. During monsoon season, this hill station becomes more alive and active with lots of travel freaks. Lonavala got its name derived from 'Len' and 'Avali' which roughly translates to 'the resting place of stones.

Tiger's Point
is a prominent tourist attraction in Lonavala and offers splendid views of the valley. If you look closely, you can see an impression of a tiger trying to leap across the valley, which is why the vantage point has earned its name. The echo produced by rocks falling into the crevasse is another highlight of this point. During monsoon, a small natural waterfall is formed close to this point. Located around 15 km from Lonavala, the Pawana Lake is one of the least explored artificial lakes in the vicinity. Bhaja Caves
Bhaja caves is a group of 22 rock-cut caves dating back to the 2nd century BC located near Lonavala, The caves are 400 feet above the village of Bhaja, on an important ancient trade route running from the Arabian Sea eastward into the Deccan Plateau (the division between North India and South India).The inscriptions and the cave temple are protected as a National Monument, by the Archaeological Survey of India.

Located close to the Monkey point ( 8 KM from railway station ) you can watch the sunset from here. You should match your timing to reach here in the afternoon so you can spend your time at Monkey point and see the sunset before returning.
